HI,we are using the latest rush and sometimes it would not release cpus even though the frames are rendered with exitcode 0 this currently only happens with shake 4. also is there a way to have mentalray renders get sent one frame per dual cpu box instead of 2 frames per box? we would like to retain the cpu= 2 in the hosts file yet be able to chose how many jobs a box should manage. thanks Luigi Tommaseo Digital Systems Manager Senate Visual Effects Twickenham Film Studios St.Margarets Twickenham Middlesex TW1 2AW Tel: (Tel# suppressed) luigi@(email surpressed) www.senatevfx.com |

Can you show the reports that show the problem? ie. include the: > "Frames" report from irush > The logs for the frames having the trouble Not sure what you mean by 'would not release cpus'.. does this mean the shake render is never exiting? If these are Windows machines running the renders, check the console on the stuck machines for error dialog windows; if the app is failing due to a memory error, the dialog will post, and the app will hang until it's clicked away, or until it's requeued interactively by the user from irush. Or, try opening a terminal window on one of those machines, and paste the shake command from the rush logs into the window, and watch the command run. Do any GUIs pop open, or any dialogs? If so, that is probably the problem. also is there a way to have mentalray renders get sent one frame per dual cpu box instead of 2 frames per box? we would like to retain the cpu= 2 in the hosts file yet be able to chose how many jobs a box should manage.
