Hi Greg, If I wanted to run Rush on both a virtual machine and its native host, would they both be able to share a license or would they have to be licensed separately? -Dan ---------- Dan "Doc" Browne System Administrator Evil Eye Pictures dbrowne@(email surpressed) Office: (415) 777-0666 x105 |

The typical config of setting them up as separate hosts (ie. each with their own hostname) and both running at the same time would mean they'd consume separate licenses. Whether virtual or not, they're separate hosts conceptually (separate hostnames, separate network stacks, separate queues). The only way rush can share a license for a machine is if it's a dual boot box, both OS's having the same hostname, but not both running at the same time. If you wanted a 4 proc 8gig box to have 2 cpus/4gig for hosta and 2cpus/4gig for hostb, you'd configure them as if they were separate machines in rush. -- Greg Ercolano, erco@(email surpressed) Seriss Corporation Rush Render Queue, http://seriss.com/rush/ Tel: (Tel# suppressed)ext.23 Fax: (Tel# suppressed) Cel: (Tel# suppressed) |

That's what I thought; thanks Greg.
